Mark DeLeon

With 30 years of farming experience, Mark DeLeon is a dedicated and seasoned farmer, growing runner and Spanish peanuts since 2002. Alongside his son Addison, when he’s home from college, Mark also grows cotton and manages a cow-calf operation, continuing a tradition of hard work and innovation in agriculture.
Mark graduated from Erick High School and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He has served on the Northfork Red River Conservation District Board for the past 12 years and is also a key member of the Oklahoma Comprehensive Water Plan Committee. Mark’s commitment to his community extends to his 15 years of service on the Elk City Summer Youth and Recreation Board, and he is an active member of the Sayre Church of Christ.
Mark and his wife, Amy, have been married for nearly 30 years. Amy works as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, OK. Their daughter, Bridget, is a Speech-Language Pathologist in Tulsa, OK, and her husband, Zac Kincanon, recently earned his law degree and works as a Corporate Contracts Representative. The DeLeons’ son, Addison, is a senior at Oklahoma State University, where he is pursuing a degree in Agribusiness with a minor in Marketing, set to graduate in May.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys snow skiing, quail hunting, watching the Houston Astros and Oklahoma State teams, and visiting his children.
Mark is passionate about the peanut industry and has expressed his excitement about his role on the National Peanut Board:
“I am honored to be appointed to this position and I look forward to continuing to learn more about all of the facets of the peanut industry and share that knowledge with the fellow farmers in my area. I am thankful for the progress NPB has made in addressing peanut allergies recently and hope to continue to play a part in further advancements to help the peanut industry to become even more profitable in the future.”
Mark’s deep roots in farming and his dedication to his community make him a valuable asset to the National Peanut Board, and he looks forward to helping shape the future of the peanut industry for generations to come.
