Jeff Roper

Jeff Roper is a fourth-generation farmer who brings decades of experience and a strong passion for the agricultural industry. As the 2025 treasurer of the National Peanut Board, Jeff manages his own farm, Jeffery Roper Farms, where he produces organic peanuts, cotton, organic milo, organic wheat, and native grasses. Jeff's commitment to innovation and sustainability in farming is evident in the care he takes to manage his diverse crops and organic operations.

A graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in horticulture, Jeff has been active in peanut industry organizations throughout his career. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the Texas Peanut Producers Board and has been a member of the American Peanut Council (APC) Export Committee since 2012, having held various officer roles, including Chair of the APC export committee in 2017. His involvement in these organizations, as well as his leadership role as Chair of the APC Export Committee for 2024-2025, reflects his deep dedication to advancing the peanut industry on both national and international levels.

Jeff's passion for advancing research in the peanut industry is driven by his desire to ensure a healthy future for his family. With two children, Brittney Shipley (spouse Ken) and Bryson, and now two grandsons, Barrett and Britton Grey Shipley, Jeff understands the importance of ensuring that peanuts are introduced early into his grandchildren’s diets for optimal health.

Jeff’s work with the National Peanut Board has provided him with a deeper understanding of the critical research efforts in peanut allergies, including early introduction, mitigation, and the funding of state-specific peanut research. He sees the value of this research in solving both local and regional problems and fostering collaboration across states, all while helping the peanut industry become more profitable.

His strong family values, leadership, and dedication to advancing both peanut production and public health make Jeff a respected figure in the peanut industry.
