Cliff Neece

Cliff Neece is the owner and operator of Neece Farms LLC, a thriving farming operation located in Arch, New Mexico, near Portales. Specializing in Valencia seed peanuts, wheat, hay grazer, and running a cow-calf operation, Cliff has been deeply involved in agriculture for over 30 years. Since 1993, when he began farming his great grandfather’s land, he has nurtured a diverse range of crops, including corn, black-eyed peas, cotton, alfalfa, oats, and milo, all while maintaining a commitment to sustainable practices and community values.

Cliff’s dedication to farming is matched by his devotion to his community. He serves as the assistant chief for the Arch Volunteer Fire Department, where he works alongside his two sons, who share his passion for service. Cliff is also a deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Portales, embodying a deep sense of stewardship both on and off the farm. Along with his wife, Shawna, who has taught third grade at Valencia Elementary for over 15 years, Cliff also co-owns Commercial Street Self Storage in Portales.

Family is at the heart of everything Cliff does. He and Shawna have been married for 30 years and are proud parents of twins Chanden and Briley, who both graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 2024 with degrees in Agricultural Science. The boys have always been integral to the farm, helping with the daily operations and cattle care whenever they can. Chanden recently married his wife, Tiffany, in June 2024, adding another layer of joy to the family’s growing legacy.

When he’s not working the farm or volunteering, Cliff enjoys spending time with his family, indulging in hobbies like hunting, fishing, and bowling. These activities provide him with a perfect balance to the hard work he pours into his agricultural ventures.

Cliff’s time on the National Peanut Board has given him a greater understanding of the peanut industry and the importance of efforts like research and marketing aimed at promoting peanuts and tackling peanut allergies. Serving as an alternate member, he has gained a deeper appreciation for the invaluable work being done in the industry and looks forward to continuing his efforts to make a difference.

Cliff’s commitment to agriculture, community, and the peanut industry is a testament to his passion and drive to ensure that the legacy of farming continues to thrive for generations to come. He looks forward to serving and making an impact alongside fellow farmers on the National Peanut Board.
