Clay Deane

Clay Deane is a fifth-generation farmer with deep roots in agriculture and a passion for advancing Missouri’s peanut industry. As an operator of Triple D Farms, a family-run venture in partnership with his cousins, Deane has been immersed in farming since the age of nine. After earning a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from Mississippi State University in 2012, he officially joined the family farm and began growing peanuts in 2015. Today, his farm spans 9,000 acres and produces peanuts, corn, soybeans, and cotton.

Active in both agricultural and community organizations, Deane is a member of the Missouri Farm Bureau, Delta Growers Association, Missouri Peanut Producers Association, and Delta Peanut. His leadership was recently recognized with his election to the MFA Fertilizer Board. These roles underscore his commitment to fostering growth and innovation in agriculture.

Deane and his wife, Sara Beth, are proud parents to two sons, Clay Garrett (CG) and Jack. The family is active in their church, values time spent traveling together, and enjoys outdoor pursuits like hunting.

As a National Peanut Board member, Deane is eager to bring Missouri's voice to the table. “I would like to be a voice for our state to be able to grow the industry in Missouri and see the industry come to Missouri as far as peanuts are concerned,” Deane shared. “I look forward to connecting with growers who have grown peanuts their whole lives, like we have grown cotton, and sharing what they know with new growers like us and new areas like this where there’s going to be an up-and-coming industry.”

Through his role on the Board, Deane aims to bridge the gap between established peanut growers and emerging producers, ensuring the continued growth and success of the peanut industry in Missouri and beyond.
