Casey Cox Kerr

Casey Cox Kerr, the sixth generation of her family to farm on the Flint River in south Georgia, continues a proud legacy of agricultural excellence. She operates Longleaf Ridge Farms, producing sweet corn, runner peanuts, field corn, soybeans, and timber. With a deep commitment to sustainable farming, Casey is not only dedicated to growing high-quality crops but also to preserving the land for future generations.
Casey’s farming journey began in 2013, when she started working part-time with her father, Glenn, after graduating from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Forest Resources & Conservation. She transitioned to full-time farming in 2019, and began working alongside her husband in 2022, Chris, as they manage and grow the operation. Together, they are excited to carry on the foundation her parents built for their daughter, Rooney, ensuring a thriving future for the farm.
Beyond farming, Casey has had a distinguished career in environmental leadership. She served as Executive Director of the Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District for over five years and has held numerous influential positions on various boards, including the Georgia Agribusiness Council, the American Peanut Council, and the Jekyll Island Foundation, to name a few. Her commitment to Georgia’s agricultural and environmental landscape is further demonstrated through her involvement with the Georgia Seed Development Commission and as a Leadership Georgia graduate.
Casey’s dedication to the peanut industry is evident through her service on the National Peanut Board, where she proudly serves as Chair, continuing to advocate for the promotion, research, and education surrounding peanuts. She also finds great pride in the work the National Peanut Board has done to increase peanut consumption and raise awareness about peanut allergies, including initiatives like the early introduction of peanuts to infants.
When she’s not working the farm or advocating for agriculture, Casey enjoys snorkeling and paddling the Flint River in the summer and hiking in cooler months. Her professional journey has been marked by hard work, innovation, and a passion for both the land and the people who make Georgia’s farming communities strong.
Casey lives in Camilla, Georgia with her husband, Chris, and their daughter, Rooney. Whether on the farm, in the boardroom, or on an outdoor adventure, Casey is dedicated to building a sustainable and thriving future for the peanut industry and the generations that will follow.
